The country features several distinct geographic regions. To the north lies the mountainous Thai highlands, while the northeast, known as Isan, includes the Khorat Plateau, bordered to the east by the Mekong River. The central region is characterized by the Chao Phraya River valley, which flows into the Gulf of Thailand. With such diverse geography, Thailand boasts both majestic mountains and pristine white sand beaches, including stunning islands.  

Following the end of COVID in 2023, the Thai government has allowed travelers from many more countries to visit Thailand without needing visas, and some can enjoy extended stays. Please click to find out more.
