Tour Overview

Half Day Jim Thompson House & Suan Pakkad Palace

Begin your tour with a pick-up from your hotel and transfer to the Jim Thompson House, a beautiful traditional Thai teak residence created by the renowned American silk entrepreneur Jim Thompson.

Jim Thompson House

Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, the Jim Thompson House contains an impressive collection of Asian art and antiques, reflecting Thompson’s deep appreciation for Thai culture, architecture, and craftsmanship.

Jim Thompson played an important role in revitalizing Thailand’s silk industry before his mysterious disappearance in Malaysia in 1967. Today, his former residence has become one of Bangkok’s most fascinating museums.

Explore the museum and its remarkable collection before enjoying some time to browse the famous Jim Thompson shop. Depending on the schedule, you may also have the opportunity to view temporary exhibitions featuring Thai and Asian art.

Suan Pakkad Palace Museum

Continue to Suan Pakkad Palace Museum, a former private royal residence transformed into a museum by Prince and Princess Chumbhot of Nagara Svarga in 1952.

Set within peaceful gardens along Sri Ayudhya Road, the museum features a collection of traditional Thai houses connected by covered walkways. Each building displays fascinating works of art, antiques, and historic objects collected and preserved by generations of the royal family.

The collection includes objects associated with Prince Paribatra Sukhumbandhu, a son of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) and Queen Sukhumala Marasri.

Art, Architecture & Cultural Treasures

Explore the traditional Thai houses and discover their distinctive collections before visiting the beautiful Lacquer Pavilion, one of the highlights of the palace gardens.

The complex also includes the Ban Chiang Museum and Marsi Gallery within the Chumbhot-Pantip Centre of Arts, offering further insight into Thailand’s archaeology, art, and cultural heritage.
