Tour Overview
The Breathtaking Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail
This morning, we will drive through beautiful countryside and rice fields to visit the King and Queen Pagodas on Doi Inthanon. The twin pagodas were built by the Royal Thai Air Force to commemorate the 60th birthdays of Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit.
From the pagodas, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the spectacular scenery of Doi Inthanon National Park. We will then continue to a Karen hill tribe village, where you can observe the local way of life. Along the way, we will also stop at a local hill tribe market.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail near Mae Klang Luang. This scenic trail takes you away from the main tourist areas and offers a fascinating introduction to the natural landscapes of Doi Inthanon National Park.
The trail begins through a forested area and gradually descends toward the river. We will walk alongside the stream before reaching the beautiful Pha Dok Siew Waterfall. Depending on conditions, you may have the opportunity to cool off in the refreshing water at the base of the falls.
Continuing along the trail, the landscape gradually opens into agricultural areas surrounding Mae Klang Luang Karen Village. Here, you will see rice paddies, coffee plantations, and traditional farming areas.
We will stop at a local coffee house, where locally grown coffee beans are roasted, hand-ground, and freshly brewed using coffee cultivated in the surrounding hills.
On the return journey, we will visit Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Doi Inthanon National Park, before returning to Chiang Mai.
