Essential Information
Tour Overview
Immerse yourself in the authentic rural life of Koh Kret, a charming river island, and enjoy a day full of family-friendly activities and fun.
Start your adventure by meeting your guide at the hotel, then travel to Pak Kred Pier, located 20 km north of Bangkok. From there, hop on a long-tail boat to Wat Poramai Yikawas, home to a 200-year-old leaning pagoda and a local museum featuring religious artifacts. Learn about the Mon people, an ancient tribe from Burma who settled in this area between the 6th and 10th centuries.
After your visit, take a stroll through the nearby market and sample some exotic local snacks, accompanied by iced-cold drinks served in hand-thrown terracotta pots.
Next, get hands-on with some traditional pottery at a local pottery house, where the Mon people’s famous craftsmanship is still preserved. You will have the chance to participate in a mini pottery workshop and create your own unique souvenirs.
Take a relaxing boat ride around Koh Kred, enjoying the peaceful rural views. With no cars on the island and only small concrete walkways, the community has preserved its traditional way of life, much like it was a century ago. It’s a perfect spot for a safe and enjoyable walk with your children.
Stop at a secluded pier and explore a less-visited, lush green area. Here, you will be welcomed by a local family who will invite you into their home. Join them in cooking Kanom Krok, a traditional coconut snack, on a terracotta stove, and enjoy the warmth of their hospitality.
After a day filled with cultural experiences, head back to the pier and return to your hotel, taking with you wonderful memories of Koh Kret and its authentic charm.
